Personality - Daken has no moral compunction about killing, he has been a professional killer for the majority of his life. He has no problems killing people he never has, he has killed people since he was a child. To him death is merely another part of life it happens so why care if your the one doing it?

While he is a Wolverine, he is both feral and refined. He has been trained and molded into the perfect killer, he has no compunctions about it and will do whatever is asked of him. He is the one man that will always do as he's told and will do whatever is needed, though he has moments where he is so feral not even Romulus can control him. This is when he is off doing his own thing, he will lose himself to battle and fight any enemy that is in his way. He revels in the bloodlust and the combat he loves the way it makes him feel to kill an enemy and the way he will look when he's done.

He can be a refined and "good" person when it suits his needs and he is very keen on doing so when it's required of him. Otherwise he doesn't care about anything or anyone, he will do whatever is needed to get control of a situation. This includes using sex to gain his advantage, he will engage in sexual acts with anyone if it means manipulating them, for him it's not about attraction it's all about control. The ultimate control you can over someone is over their body and over what you do to it.

To all but those that get passed his exterior he is cold and uncaring, he hates people because every person is another reminder that he is a half breed. Every person who does not look like him and is very much unlike him, he is a man that trusts no one and cares for none. The only person he cared for was Akihira his father and he is dead, Akihira committed suicide.

Skills and Talents - Daken has superb hand to hand training in combat, he is so good he can even best Cyber. He has a well known and developed skill to appear just outside his enemies peripheral vision and attack. This is not a super human skill merely his training under Cyber and his beatings from Romulus and Winter Soldier.

Powers - Regenerative Healing Factor: Daken's primary mutatn power is an accelerated healing factor that allows him to rapidly regenerate damage or injury. His healing factor allows him to regrow organs or limbs that are lost though he can not reattach them as Deadpool can. He also has great immunity to every disease and illness, he also ages at a much slower pace than most other humans, he was born in 1946 and yet even in 2010 he appeared as a man in his prime of life.

Superhumanly Acute Senses: Daken's senses of sight, smell, and hearing are all heightened to some degree of superhuman accuracy. He can see much further and with greater clarity than a normal human, even retaining much of this clarity even in near total darkness. Daken's hearing is similarly enhanced, enabling him to detect sounds normal humans can't and sounds they ordinarily could but at much greater distances. Daken's sense of smell is increased to the point he can track someone by their scent alone and is able to find them by their scent.

Superhuman Stamina: As is the case with his father, Daken's healing factor has augmented the efficiency of his musculature, causing it to produce less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. He can, exert himself for several hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him.

Superhuman Reflexes: Daken's reflexes are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Retractable Muramasa Claws: Daken possessed retractable claws housed within his forearms. Daken's bone claws have been shown to be black in color with a very rough texture in contrast to the light color and smooth texture of his father's claws in their natural state. Daken has two claws which emerge from between the skin of his first and third knuckles while the center claws actually extend from the underside of his wrist. These claws are much harder and denser than normal human bone and their natural shape provides them with a razor sharp edge capable of easily slicing through flesh and bone very easily. Daken has had the claws which extend from the underside of his wrist bonded with a broken piece of the Muramasa blade. There is a sheath inside of his wrists for his under claws to prevent the Muramasa from killing him. The sheath's are made from Adamanatium. According to the Tinkerer, the substance the Muramasa blade is composed of would severely damage Daken's soft body tissues, hence the presence of the Adamantium sheathes. However, the Tinkerer has explained that the bonded claws can be broken and that Daken only use them in certain situations, such as using them only when he's sure he can deliver a wound without the possibility of the claws being damaged. As they're bonded with the broken shard, they're capable of inflicting wounds that greatly nulify the efficiency of accelerated healing factors. Even those with highly advanced healing factors, such as Wolverine, require several days to fully heal even minor cuts with the blade and the blade is capable of inflicting wounds that would be immediately fatal.


Pheromone Control: Daken is capabel of manipulating pheromones for the purposes of suppressing his natural scent. Changing the emotional states of others by scent, causing attraction also give an enemy a false sense of security because he causes them to not feel threatened with him there. This has allowed him to kill several of his targets by suddenly killing people after he has them calm and relaxed. He can distort his enemies abilities to move and perception and visual acuity. Which cause sluggish responses to him and his fighting. He has used this power all of his life, he even used it as a baby and that was why his adoptive mother didn't love him.

Telepathic Immunity: because of his training with Cyber, he has become immune to telepathy. his brain even developed a "trap" for any telepath that goes too far into his mind. Daken's immunity is not to protect him from memories but rather to keep people from undoing his brainwashing.

History - In 1946 Wolverine was living in Jasmine Falls, Japan and his wife Itsu was pregnant and they were expecting their first baby. While Wolverine was out Romulus sent Winter Soldier to kill Itsu and she died quckly. A man cut Daken from his mother's womb, he was placed on the doorstep of Akihira and Natsumi's door step. A traditional japanese couple, they had thus far been unable to have children. They took Daken's arrival as an answer to their prayers they raise him as their own, they named Akihiro. This was not carried on by the family's servants or the other families of the province they refered to him as Daken (駄犬, "bastard dog" or "mongrel"). This is a slur to his obviously mixed heritage both Gaijin and Japanese. He never made friends and he was never seen as right because he was a bastard child.

It was late one night when Akihiro was about thirteen that he overhears his mother talking with his father. She is finalyl pregnant, Akihira is overjoyed and they begin talking about what to do. After about a year Akihiro realizes his "mother" is going to get rid of him so he kills the toddler and tells his "mother" what he has done. Upon hearing this Akihira is furious and disowns Akihiro. Akihiro furiously announces that it is ot his true name and as Natsumi suddenly appears and attempts to kill Akihiro with a katana he unsheathes his claws for the first time and waves his arm to defend himself. He accidently kills Natsumi and Akihira is unable to kill his son he commits suicide. It is on that day that Romulus appears and tells Akihiro what he will become.

After many years of training with Cyber, Winter Soldier and growing up from the age of thirteen he goes on to do other things. Daken goes into a SHIELD Facility and free's his father, but not before he slashes open his stomach and leaves him to bleed to death as he had done to his "mother" many years before. Daken kills everyone to give his father a chance to escape and get away from SHIELD though it is not for love that he does this. He spends many months away from being seen training and perfecting his fighting techniques.

It is some months before he gets a call of where his father is and he gets to him and fights his father yet again tearing him apart this time. Wolverine won't kill his own son which hampers in him the fight but Daken isn't so hampered and he fights with all he's got. However Wolverine isn't able to see the finish of the fight as Cyber interrupts and then challenges Daken. The fight between Daken and Cyber is difficult and Daken refuses to lead Cyber to his master after Cyber beat him into a pulp. He left Cyber and Wolverine to deal with each other as he knew this would happen.

A few weeks after that fight he is found by Wild Child who beats him senseless, Daken is tied to a few poles and chained to them. He pleads for mercy and recieves none, Daken knows what he did to anger his master but he doesn't want to obey him forever. He spends six months this way, being beaten and brutally taught his lesson to stay away from Wolverine.

The moment that Daken is free he runs off to find Wolverine again, this time he finds Deadpool and Wolverine fighting. He fights them both and knocks Deadpool out and then fights Wolverine. However Winter Soldier shoots Daken in the back of the head and due to the shot he suffers from amnesia and Wolverine takes him away.

Daken lives at the Xavier Institute for several months, showing that his lack of moral compunction is not just training. He really does not care about people or life, he is tracked down by Mister Sinister and Sebastian Shaw. They help him to regain his memory, he joins his father after he learns the truth and goes to kill Romulus. They both fight and then kill Cyber, Daken leaves Cyber's body to Wolverine's care. He left to go and track down the Muramasa blade because he wanted it for hsi claws.

Daken joins the Dark Avengers where he takes on the monkier of Dark Wolverine he even wears a costume similar to Wolverine. Cyclops sees him as a liability and plans to kill him with the Muramasa Blade to protect the image of the X-Men. This works out to his advantage, Cyclops brings the blade with him and when they attack Muramasa breaks and he takes the pieces to the Tinkerer who bonds the metal to the claws on his wrists and cautions him on their use. When Spider-Man enters Avengers Tower pretending to be Mac Gargan, he is first ambushed by Daken who knew he was not Mac via scent. However, he is eventually incapacitated by Spider-Man after he pummeled Daken and threw him into an electric generator. Spider-Man, Daken and Bullseye are sent by Norman Osborn to kill Mac Gargan. However, he is beaten badly by Gargan, when Mac threw him through a building.

After repeated failed attempts to kill Frank Castle, Norman Osborn finally decides to send Daken and a platoon of HAMMER troops to complete the mission. After a bloody round of hand-to-hand combat, Daken dismembers and decapitates Castle, kicking his remains from a rooftop.

Bruce Banner lures his son Skaar into a fight between him and Daken, where Daken uses his pheromones to calm Skaar down, reducing him to human form. Skaar asked Daken to kill him and Daken was going to but then Wolverine and Bruce intervene. The two father-son teams battle, but the fight stops when Banner says that Skaar has learned his lesson and Daken abruptly leaves Wolverine behind.

Daken also becomes a member of Osborn's Dark X-Men. He also remains on the Dark Avengers team, though he takes the Dark X-Men's side in their quarrel with the Dark Avengers. When Bullseye asks him which side he was on, he replies that he "always did like playing for both teams."

Daken is not loyal to Osborn, he let the man think that he was loyal to him after all he doesn't work for anyone but himself now. He secretly assists the Fantastic Four break into Avengers Tower to steal incriminating evidence agaisnt Osborn while trying to clear their name against Osborn, but he was foiled by Bullseye. Ms. Marvel tried ot psychoanalyze him and asuage her feelings for him, but Daken rebuked her and Osborn.

During Normal Osborn's Siege of Asgard, Daken intended to turn on him and he believes tha the does indeed murder him. It is later revealed that it was hallucination he ddid not get to kill him because he was struck down by Thor's hammer. Once the Siege ends with the Void's death, Osborn's Avengers are rounded up and arrested. Daken escaped by killing and disguising himself as an army soldier.

Daken had already begun to have plans to turn on Romulus and he attempts to kill him but his father interrupts and has Cloak teleport Romulus to the Dark Force dimension. This leaves Daken without a goal for a time because he doesn't know what to do. Wolverine and Daken fight again this time Logan remains calm and fights him until he's knocked unconcious and Wolverine tears out the Muramasa claws and the sheathes.

Sometime after the loss of his metal claws he tries to set his life right for a bit but Franken-Castle attacks. The man is seeking revenge for kiling him when he was still alive, however the man leaves and Daken follows a series of deadly traps that were in his path and almost killing him. They have another brutal hand to haand battle and Daken is severely injured and retreats. However Franken-Castle follows and beats Daken even more and is about to throw him into concrete foundation. However Franken-Castle is stabbed in the chest from behind, by Wolverine who states he is intervening in his plans to kill his son.

Escaping as the two fight he gains the upper hand by incapcitating the Punisher and takes the Bloodstone, giving him increased strength and speed. It unfortunately accelerated his healing factor, which upon being wounded it would create tumors after healing him. He is ultimately defeated when the Punisher shoves a phosphorus grenade into his chest, turning him intoa tumor ridden monstrosity, simultaneously informing Daken that his attempts to taunt him failed because Punisher built his reputation fromt he ground up while Daken is riding his father's reputation. Wolverine removes the stone and returns it to Frank, but before Frank can give the coup de grace, Daken cuts himself out of the tumor mass and disappears.

A few months later Daken has returned to Madripoor, to clean up house. A man named Tan Kim Seng is a a man that he must kill since he's trying to get all of the criminal underworld to obey him. Daken kills all of Tan Kim Seng's men and then goes after the man, it was only him and a British entrepreneur named Hunt left alive in Tan's office. Tan is haiving a final drink as Daken breaks in. Tan trades only with business men, not Awun (taiwanese for god of destruction). Tan states that he knows that Daken is Patch's (aka Wolverine) son, and when he looks in Daken's eyes he tells him that his soul is gone. He berates Daken further by comparing him to his father Wolverine. This ultimately leads to his demise by a gunshot to his forehead. Tan's final words weigh heavy in Daken's mind later throughout the night. Daken decides to pay a visit to the Avenger's Tower. He sets up a scenario that makes it look like the Avengers Tower is under attack. Wolverine picks up on Daken's scent. Wolverine is ambushed by Daken. Daken states that he knew what Wolverine was planning by having the team split up, so no harm would come to them. Daken lets Wolverine know that he did not come to kill him, but to say that he was going to be missing for a while, and is going to live outside of Wolverine's shadow. Daken having a vast amount of money from his exploits in Madripoor, decides to start a new empire in the city of Los Angeles. He enters an expensive house that belonged to a previous couple that is lying dead on the steps at the entrance of the home. Daken looks at a marvelous view of Los Angeles and narrates to himself that he is not going to destroy, but to create.

His life during this time is a fair bit quieter than one would expect given that he is trying to break out of his father's shadow. He quickly does his best to become part of the social elite and in so doing he becomes addicted to a drug called "Heat" it is a drug that is quickly addictive for him and he loves the feeling of them.

Daken and Marcus watch a final cut from an upcoming movie that Marcus is the lead in. Daken tells him that he feels the movie is simplistic. Marcus explains to Daken that the audience loves things that are simple. He does wish to do an indie film which is more personal, but he has to strike while his fame is on the rise as a leading man in movies. Daken quickly insults Marcus by suggested that he should be a queen. Marcus replies with that he can't come out of the closet because his acting career will suffer. If Daken can't understand that then he does not understand hte movie business, Daken shows him his claws and threatens Marcus if he doesn't get him more heat.

After a dose he regains conciousness in front of the two bodyguards and Marcus Roston himself. Daken is surprised about the pills and Marcus confirms tha the knows about them. He also berates Daken, stating that he is not a big deal due to the fact that he does not know him. He also threatens him, Daken quickly dispatches both of Marcus' guards and then Marcus attempts to bargain with him. Daken does not want only money he also wants power and validation. Marcus begs he will do anything for his life to be spared, so Daken kisses him and seduces him. This was done because he needed someone in the LA underworld, so he could have more access to The Heat

During an investigation before Daken can discover who is the mysterious Kingpin of Los Angeles, he had a confrontation with the hero Moon Knight.

A beaten up and broken Daken discovers the properties of the heat pills are from non-human blood, confirming his suspicions that the blood belongs to a member of the Pride. An angry Daken wonders how to kill a member of the Pride but realizes he does not know, so he heads to people who do - their children, the Runaways. The Runaways, however, do not take lightly to his appearance and immediately attack him. Daken manages to talk them down, and reveals that he believes Roston to be an exiled member of The Pride. Chase confirms that he recognizes Roston as "Uncle Eli", a distant relative he had not seen in some time. Daken asks the Runaways to prepare to fight while he tracks down Roston.

It is after this point that he is taken from his home and taken to this new realm and brought in to help. It is before he can do anything that will make him become a better person he doesn't want to destroy anything he simply wants to be out from under his Father's shadow and to live his own life.

Roleplay Sample - Daken looked around as he realized that he was away from his home, he sat up and sighed as he thought of what to do with himself. He had worked hard to gain control of the L.A. underworld and that failed and he had even fallen in love. Daken had actually fallen in love, he shook his head and chose not to think of that person as he tried to take in his surroundings. "Shit where the hell am I?" He grumbled as he checked his pocket and there were indeed Heat Pills there. He wondered if there would be more to be found and for him to gain control of more, this place was weird and he'd have to do his best to make his supply last.

He was sick of living in his Father's shadow and that was what was driving him now, but he knew with the pills he had no healing factor. As long as he was taking the pills he'd not have any Healing Factor, that was going to make his life harder but he'd accept it and he shook his head as he tried to realize this was not his home. "All right so where am I?" He asked softly as he walked away from the spot he got up at and started to find things out and figure out what was ging to happen to him. This was definately not his home nor was it Marcus' bed that made him shudder at the memory, he'd actually fallen for him.
